The note which Count de Montholon has addressed this day to the governor will be forthwith transmitted to the secretary of state.
Exclusive of any objection which might have rendered the governor unwilling to act of himself upon the suggestion presented in Count Montholon's former note, it is to be observed, that there is no probability of the vessel now on the point of departure, returning from the place where she is proceeding, within this period that Count Montholon has supposed.[^1]
