Sir,
Dr. Arnott has acquainted me that the disorder under which Napoleon Bonaparte is suffering, having assumed a very serious aspect, he had suggested the calling in any other medical advice which it might be the desire to obtain. To the suggestion of Dr. Arnott, I beg leave to add my own offer, of directing the instant attendance of any medical gentleman on the island, whom it might be the wish to consult with. I have before offered the services of Dr. Shortt Physician to the Forces. Rear Admiral Lambert is, I am certain, equally ready to order the attendance of the principal medical officer of the Royal Navy, but should the services of any other gentlemen be required, their attendance will be alike immediately directed.
I have the honor to be sir, your most obedient most humble servant,[^1]
*Hudson Lowe*
