[^1]: Pierre Anselme Garrau ou Garreau (1762-1819), avocat avant la
Révolution, député à la Législative puis à la Convention, il
est lié à Carnot qui le nomme commissaire aux armées près
l’armée d’Italie en février 1796, avec Saliceti. Il est
rappelé à Paris en décembre 1796.

[^3]: Louis Baraguey d’Hilliers (1764-1813), général de brigade
(1793), destitué en Vendémiaire, réintégré un mois plus tard,
il passe à l’armée d’Italie en mai 1796. Général de division
(10 mars 1797), il occupe Venise en mai 1797.
