Feltre, je reçois votre lettre du 8 juillet dans laquelle vous
me proposez de former pour l’armée d’Espagne un équipage de
134 bouches à feu : cela est trop considérable.
4 batteries de réserve, de pièces de 12, me paraissent
inutiles : deux de ces batteries sont plus que suffisantes. Les
20 pièces de 8 que vous mettez dans 5 batteries
d’artillerie à pied peuvent être remplacées par 20 pièces

</table><p style="margin-bottom: 0cm">Il est inutile d’avoir
un double approvisionnement. Un simple approvisionnement, avec un
quart, en sus, attelé, suffit. Par ce moyen les 3 mille chevaux
seront suffisants. J’ai, cependant, ordonné une réquisition de
1 200 mulets, dont 600 seront donnés à l’artillerie
