La Riboisière, faites-moi un rapport qui me fasse connaître les
besoins de l'artillerie, 1<sup>o</sup> en bouches à feu de
campagne ; 2<sup>o</sup> en munitions ; 3<sup>o</sup> en
poudre ; 4<sup>o</sup> en ouvriers pour pouvoir se procurer des
affûts, des fers et autres objets nécessaires à
l'approvisionnement de l'artillerie ; 5<sup>o</sup> en
personnel, savoir, canonniers et train.

dans ce compte les alliés. Pour la cavalerie, il faut une
demi-batterie par chaque régiment de cuirassiers : ainsi, pour
la division Nansouty, il faut dix-huit pièces, pour la division
Saint-Germain, douze ; pour la division du duc de Padoue<sup>[^6]</sup>,
douze. Une demi batterie de trois pièces pour chaque division de
cavalerie légère ; ainsi il faut, pour la division Montbrun et
pour celle que commandait le général Lasalle<sup>[^7]</sup>,
et pour les 3 divisions de cuirassiers, quarante-huit pièces
d'artillerie légère. Pour la Garde, il faut compter d'abord
soixante pièces telles qu'elles existaient avant la bataille,
vingt-quatre pièces dont j'ai ordonné la formation à Strasbourg.
24 pièces de plus, je désire avoir, sous le commandement du
général de l'artillerie de ma Garde, pour suivre sa destination,
une réserve de douze pièces de 12 et six obusiers servis par
l'artillerie à pied, faisant dix-huit pièces. Ce qui portera
l'artillerie qui suivra la Garde à cent deux pièces. Plus, quatre
divisions chacune de six pièces, savoir : seize pièces de 6 et
huit obusiers servis par l'artillerie de la ligne, faisant
vingt-quatre pièces ; ce qui formera une réserve de
quarante-deux bouches à feu qui, avec les quatre-vingt-quatre pièces
de la Garde, feront une réserve de cent vingt-six pièces.</p><p style="margin-bottom: 0cm"><br/>

l'artillerie doit pouvoir fournir, indépendamment du service du
corps, deux compagnies à Passau, une ou deux à Linz, une à Melk et
à Göttweig, deux à la tête de pont de Vienne, deux dans Vienne,
une à Raab, une à Graz, deux dans d'autres forts. Indépendamment
de ces douze ou treize compagnies, il en faut au moins huit pour le
service des parcs et pour les événements imprévus. C'est donc plus
de vingt, soit à pied, soit à cheval, qui sont indispensables,
indépendamment de celles destinées au service des corps. Aussitôt
que j'aurai votre rapport, je prendrai des mesures convenables pour
que tout ce qui manque arrive. Nous trouverons à Graz une grande
quantité de boulets ; on peut en ramasser cent mille sur les
champs de bataille autour de Vienne ; ainsi il paraît que nous
en aurons suffisamment. Si, à Brünn, on n'a point trouvé 3 ou
400 milliers de poudre, il faut en faire venir d'Ulm. Il faut
faire venir également des fusils, des cuirasses, des sabres et des
pistolets. Il doit y avoir actuellement à l'armée sept à huit
compagnies qui ne sont attachées à aucun corps ; il en arrive
