Brief biographical details on
the members of the Conseil d'État from 1799 to 1814: Conseillers
d'État (senior members), Maîtres des Requêtes (counsels) and Auditeurs
(junior officials). This biographical database is based on the biographies
of the members of the Conseil d'État of the Napoleonic period compiled
by M.-C. Vignal.
These brief biographies provide an overview of the careers of the
members of the Conseil d'État in the context of their regular and
exceptional work at the Conseil d'Etat, and they are based mainly
on the information given in the Almanach Impérial. These details
have been corrected and completed as far as possible, but this on-line
search tool is far from exhaustive. A Dictionnaire biographique
des membres du Conseil d'État de 1799 à nos jours is currently being
prepared by Editions Fayard and will be a useful source of information.
